COMETS | A Short Study in Flow

I have a fascination with movement, in particluar how different natural elements interact with each other. This short series looks at the ebb and flow of water around a single rock on the beach and the resulting comet like shapes and patterns it formed.

Comet #1 - ENGULF

As the body of water surrounds the rock and almost instantaneously retreats, as series of patterns are formed that appear to emanate from undisclosed areas.

Comet #2 - STREAK

As the reach of the incoming wave recedes, the comet takes its full form, streaking across the expanse of sand.

Comet #3 - FADE

The power of the comet dims. Just the tail is visible; the spectacle nearly over.
